Exploring Customer Perceptions of Midwest Transportation

Issue:

As a subcontractor in a major marketing research study, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) sought to explore customers’ perception of Indiana transportation.

Approach:

Conducted two focus groups among Indianapolis-area residents to test approaches and validate Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT’s) established policy goals.

  • Sounded out opinions on emergent issues, such as environmental justice, land use and homeland security.
  • Restructured quantitative survey instrument based on findings.

      Results:

      Illuminated public policy discussions.

      • Elicited image, performance and experiential data for use in modeling a customer satisfaction improvement initiative.
